Asymmetric Digital Subscriber
Line is a permanent high-speed
digital connection. ADSL
converts a standard analogue
phone line allowing connections
up to 8000Kbps downstream and a
maximum 500Kbps upstream. This
is more than 50 times the
download speed of the fastest
modems. On installation a
"splitter" is provided that
divides the line in to voice and
data. This allows normal phone
calls to take place while
accessing the Internet
Traditionally, to achieve
high-speed connections to the
Internet from your home or
office, installation of a costly
"leased line" was necessary.
ADSL technology is now changing
the way we connect to the
Internet and provides a cost
effective solution to corporate,
large and small businesses and
professional users.
Flashbyte's ADSL services will
provide you with:
-
Business only user
environment
-
24-hour fixed connection
-
P2P Networks
-
Unmetered Internet Access
-
Instant e-mail and Web
browsing
-
Simultaneous Internet and
phone use
-
Fixed IP addresses for your
computer equipment
-
Optional firewall, VPN and
VoIP/VoDSL connections
The Turbo ADSL service
from Flashbyte is a contended
service. This means that you
will share the available
bandwidth with a number of other
users. This will affect the
amount of bandwidth available to
you dependent on the number of
other users online at any given
time. The contention ratio for
business use will be 20:1, and a
50:1 contention for home
users.

How do I order?
To start, you need to check that
your local exchange supports
ADSL.
To find out if you are eligible
for ADSL Please contact sales on
0870 755 80 60
Now you will need to complete
our order form and adhere to the
terms and
conditions
Prior to installation BT will
remotely test your line to check
that the line is suitable or
requires further on-site testing
by a BT engineer. Once the test
is performed we will contact you
with the results. If your line
is suitable for ADSL, we will
then arrange for installation of
the ADSL equipment, this
normally takes about an hour
What equipment will I
need?
A ADSL installation requires
a standard BT analogue phone
line and two dedicated wall
mains sockets within 2
meters of the master phone
socket.
You will also need a ADSL
Router or Modem, please
contact our sales team for
further information.
Please Note

compatible with ADSL: ISDN,
BT Highway, PBX lines,
RedCare, BT VideoStream, BT

Facilities, Coin box

other services on the
telephone line such as
